Washington Co., Mo. (KFMO) - Two people were injured Tuesday evening after a single-vehicle crash along Highway 47 in Washington County.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash happened at approximately 6:41 p.m. Tuesday, April 7, on northbound Missouri 47 south of Missouri 21.
Troopers say a 2005 Mini Cooper was traveling northbound when it crossed the center of the roadway and began to skid. Investigators say the driver then overcorrected to the right, causing the vehicle to leave the roadway. The car then traveled off the right side of the road, where it struck a ditch and trees.
The driver, a 38-year-old man from Park Hills, suffered minor injuries in the crash. A passenger, a 29-year-old woman from Cadet, suffered moderate injuries. Both were transported by the Washington County Ambulance District to Washington County Memorial Hospital for treatment.
According to the crash report, the driver was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash. The passenger was reported to have been wearing a safety device.
The vehicle was listed as totaled and was towed from the scene.
