Two Men Taken into Custody in St. Francois County on Immigration Detainers

St. Francois Co., Mo. (KFMO) - Two men are in custody after a St. Francois County Sheriff’s Deputy conducted a traffic stop Thursday, October 30, 2025, on a vehicle displaying fictitious and altered out-of-state temporary tags.

According to the Sheriff’s Department, during the stop, it was determined that both the driver and passenger were citizens of Mexico and were unlawfully present in the United States. Following consultation with the Department of Homeland Security and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), immigration detainers were issued for the individuals, identified as Enrique Valencia-Castellanos and Jose Agustin Ramirez Gomez.

Both men were taken into custody and transported to the St. Francois County Adult Detention Center. Both men have since been released into ICE custody.
