Washington County Central Dispatch Handled More Than 41,000 Calls in 2025

Washington Co., Mo. (KFMO) - Washington County Central Dispatch 9-1-1 handled a total of 41,740 calls for service in 2025, according to newly released statistics from the agency.

Since beginning detailed call-tracking on February 26, 2025, Central Dispatch has been able to provide a comprehensive breakdown of inbound calls, including 9-1-1 calls, administrative line calls, and calls requiring Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) entries. During the reporting period, dispatchers received 39,688 total inbound telephone calls, including 27,915 calls on administrative lines and 11,773 calls on 9-1-1 lines.

On average, the center handled 108.73 inbound calls per 24-hour period. The average time to answer a call was two seconds, with the average call lasting one minute and 34 seconds, reflecting a high level of efficiency in call handling. In total, 41,740 calls were entered into the CAD system, averaging 114.35 calls for service per day. CAD entries represent incidents that required dispatching or documentation for emergency or service-related responses.

Officials say the data highlights the increasing demand on Washington County Central Dispatch and underscores the critical role dispatchers play in public safety operations throughout the county.
