Washington County Sheriff Announces Additional Charges in Irondale Child Abuse Case

Washington Co., Mo. (KFMO - Additional charges have been filed in a Washington County sex crimes investigation involving children.

The Washington County Sheriff’s Office has announced new developments in an ongoing investigation out of Irondale involving alleged abuse within a family.

According to authorities, Lauren Clubbs has been charged with First Degree Endangering the Welfare of a Child and Incest. She is currently being held at the Washington County Jail on a $100,000 cash or surety bond.
The case is connected to a December 15, 2025, investigation in which Devon Whaley was charged with multiple sex-related offenses involving his nieces and nephews.

Officials say continued investigation by the Sheriff’s Office Detective Bureau uncovered evidence that Clubbs was involved in a sexual relationship with Whaley.

Investigators also report that when one child disclosed alleged abuse by Whaley to their mother, the child was disciplined. Authorities say this response led to fear among the other children, preventing them from coming forward with similar allegations.

The investigation remains ongoing.
