Leadwood, Mo. (KFMO) - The West County R-IV School District recently celebrated the completion of new additions at West County Elementary with a special ribbon cutting ceremony.
The event featured tours of the newly expanded areas of the school and a family night that welcomed students, parents, and community members to see the improvements firsthand.
Superintendent Levi Rawson says the upgrades were made possible thanks to a bond issue approved by district voters several years ago.
According to Rawson, the project represents a significant investment in the district’s facilities and in the educational environment for students attending West County Elementary.
In addition to the completed work at the elementary school, the district is planning another improvement project aimed at increasing safety and efficiency for school transportation. Rawson says the district hopes to connect all three West County campuses with a back road that would allow buses to travel between schools without using Highway M.
District officials say the road connection project is expected to be completed by this summer.
