Leadwood, Mo. (KFMO) - The West County R-IV School District will hold registration for all new elementary, middle and high school students on Thursday, August 13, as preparations continue for the upcoming school year.

Registration will be available from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. and again from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m.

District officials note that students moving from fifth grade to sixth grade within the West County School District are not considered new students and do not need to register.

Families enrolling students who are new to the district should call 573-562-7535 to schedule an appointment. Callers should use Extension 1 for the high school, Extension 2 for the middle school and Extension 3 for the elementary school.

New students should bring the following documents to registration:

  • Proof of residency
  • Immunization records
  • Previous school information
  • State-issued birth certificate

The district will also host its annual Open House on Thursday, August 20, from 6 to 8 p.m.

The first day of school for students in kindergarten through 12th grade is Monday, August 24, while Pre-K students will begin classes on Thursday, August 27.

School officials encourage families to complete registration before the start of the school year to help ensure a smooth beginning to classes.
