Woman Injured After Vehicle Overturns in I-55 Crash in Ste. Genevieve County

Ste. Genevieve Co., Mo. (KFMO) - A one vehicle rollover crash involving a semi truck left one person injured early Friday morning in Ste. Genevieve County.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash happened at approximately 3:20 a.m. Saturday, April 4, on southbound Interstate 55 at mile marker 159.

Troopers reported that a 2017 Buick Envision was traveling southbound when it changed lanes and struck the rear of a 2025 International LT62F semi truck. Investigators say the Buick then overturned after the collision.

A 20-year-old male occupant from Festus suffered moderate injuries in the crash. He was transported by Ste. Genevieve County Ambulance to Mercy Hospital Jefferson for treatment.

The driver of the Buick, a 35-year-old woman from Bloomsdale, was not listed as injured in the patrol report. The driver of the semi, a 43-year-old man from Bartlett, Tennessee, was also not reported injured.

The patrol report noted the Buick sustained extensive damage and was towed from the scene.. The semi sustained minor damage and was secured roadside.

Neither the driver of the Buick nor the injured passenger was reportedly wearing a safety device at the time of the crash, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
