Washington Co., Mo. (KFMO) - Construction on the bridge deck rehabilitation project on Missouri Route 8 over the Union Pacific Railroad in Washington County continues to be temporarily halted following a work site incident on November 10.
According to the Missouri Department of Transportation, a contract worker suffered non-life-threatening injuries at the construction site. Emergency crews responded, treated the worker on scene, and transported them for additional medical evaluation. The roadway, already operating under a single-lane work zone with temporary traffic signals, was briefly closed during the emergency response. It reopened later the same day. MoDOT, S & A Equipment & Builders, and Union Pacific Railroad are jointly investigating the incident.
All work at the site is suspended until further notice, and the timeline for resuming construction is unknown pending the outcome of the investigation.
