For the third time in fewer than two weeks, there was a system outage at the Federal Aviation Administration facility handling flights at Newark Liberty Airport. Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy says airlines will reduce flights in and out of the airport for at least a few weeks and is pledging to make needed upgrades at Newark as technical problems continue, causing staffing problems and customer concern.
The United States and China announced a step toward ending their trade war. Both countries have agreed to sharply reduce tariffs for 90 days.
