    Unionized Starbucks baristas say they're ready to strike on Nov. 13 unless the company finalizes a labor contract. The date coincides with Starbucks' annual Red Cup Day, one of its biggest sales events of the year, when free reusable red cups are given away to customers. In a statement to CBS News, Starbucks said the company is disappointed that the union voted to authorize a strike instead of coming to the bargaining table.

    The NTSB said it believes the left engine from a UPS plane that crashed earlier this week fell from the wing during takeoff in Louisville. A worker from Grade A Recycling, one of several local businesses in the aircraft's impact zone, described what happened, recalling the "explosion after explosion after explosion." The death toll from the crash is now at 12 people.

    President Trump blamed the Republican election losses on Tuesday in part on the government shutdown, which is now the longest in U.S. history, saying, "the shutdown was a big factor, negative for the Republicans, that was a big factor." Democrats have demanded a deal to end the shutdown to include an extension of ACA subsidies. CBS News' Weijia Jiang has more.
