Cape Central Flashes Strength in Win over Farmington

(Farmington, MO) The Cape Central Tigers traveled to Farmington Friday night to battle the Knights on Pink Out Night at Richardson Field. While the fences, sidelines, and players alike were strewn with pink on this night, the field ultimately became swarmed with orange and black.

The Tigers’ first two drives ended in a fumble by Zai’Aire Thomas and an interception by quarterback Deklin Pittman on his first pass. But Farmington couldn’t muster points off either turnover, and Cape Central set sail the rest of the way, with electric rushing and big plays aplenty.

Running back Zai’Aire Thomas had a monster first half, with rushing, receiving, and a passing touchdown all in the first half, finishing with 220 all purpose yards and 4 overall touchdowns on the night. Thanks to him as well as Keyshawn Boyd’s 247 rushing yards and four touchdowns of his own, the Tigers roared to a bounce back victory 54-14.

The Tigers win improves them to 6-1, with their next game scheduled at home against Lift for Life. Farmington’s loss drops them to 4-3, with another Tiger set to greet them at home in the form of 6-1 Festus.
