Central Lady Rebels Handle Farmington Knights With Ease, Win 66-36, Taylor O'Connor Leads Game With 20pts

(Farmington, MO) The Central Lady Rebels handle the Farmington Knights with little pressure after the first four minutes of the game on the way to a 66-36 victory at the Black Knight Fieldhouse on Thursday night.

Taylor O’Connor hit five straight 3-point field goals in the second quarter and led the Lady Rebels in scoring with 20 points, while collecting seven rebounds in the win as well. Sydney Miles followed with 16 points and was a perfect 6-of-6 from the foul stripe.

Farmington kept pace with Central through the first half of the opening quarter, however Central got to a four point lead after back-to-back trips to the free throw line for Miles, then Khloe Dischbein were flawless.

The Lady Rebels continued the pressure with a buzzer-beating triple by Taylor O’Connor that made it a 17-8 Central lead after the first quarter.

On the back of the 5-straight 3s hit by O’Connor, Central allowed just 10 points in the second quarter and scored 24, to lead 41-18 at halftime.

Farmington was able to get the 23-point halftime deficit down to 17 with a Shelby Bowling lay-in with 3:10 left in the third quarter, but went scoreless after that. The Knights failed to make another field goal the rest of the game, only hitting 4 free throws.

Brynn Johnson contributed 14 points to the Farmington effort, while Shelby Bowling added eight points.

The Lady Rebels improve to 10-2, and 2-0 in league play to lead the MAAA Large School Conference, while the Knights fall to 9-4, and drop their first conference game of the season.
