Lady Trojans Hand Lady Warriors Their First Home Loss in Four Sets

(Ste. Genevieve, MO) Ava and Eden Robart lead the way as the Potosi Lady Trojans beat the Valle Catholic Lady Warriors in four sets, 25-13, 25-19, 25-27, 25-21.

The Robarts unofficially finished the match with 46 total kills. Ava had 27 and Eden finished with 19 kills.

The opening set featured seven total ties from 2-2 to 8-8. Potosi rattled off five straight to open the set up at 13-8. And finished off the set 12-5.

Set two had just one lead change and five ties. But the Lady Trojan attack was too much for the Valle defense. Potosi scored eight of the last 10 points to win the second set.

Potosi opened the third set to an 8-1 advantage, however the Lady Warriors answered with a 5-0 spurt to trail 10-8 drawing a Trojan timeout. Valle continued the pressure and used another 5-0 rally to get their first lead since the start of the second set, 19-17.

The third set went into extra points with the Lady Warriors drawing even at 24-24 and 25-25. Valle ended the set with three straight points.

Set four was all Potosi throughout. They never trailed in the set.

Valle Catholic was led in scoring by Brooklyn Weibrecht with 10 kills and a block.

The Lady Trojans improve to 13-3-1 and face Fredericktown Tuesday, while Valle Catholic falls to 13-3-1 and play at Bismarck Tuesday on KFMO at 5pm.
