Lance and Hayden Sprenkel Fill North County Varsity Basketball Coaching Vacancies

(Bonne Terre, MO) North County is filling vacancies on the varsity coaching staff with Lance Sprenkel and his son Hayden Sprenkel. Lance will take over as head coach of the Raiders after one season in Bismarck.

Lance Sprenkel returned to coaching in the area last year, coaching the Indians to a 10-13 record despite injuries to key players. Lance coached at Arcadia Valley from 1999 through the 2004 season before turning to administrative duties.

While reflecting on the season at Bismarck, Lance says his mind was made up when given the opportunity to coach with Hayden.

Lance adds it's Hayden's dream to come back to the team he had so much success with.

North County Athletic Director, Jimmy Palmer, says Lance was the best option to fill the head coaching vacancy after he turned around the Bismarck program in one season.

Hayden Sprenkel adds he learned everything about basketball from his father, Lance.

Hayden spent last season as an assistant with the Mineral Area Lady Cardinals. MAC Lady Cards Head Coach, Briley Palmer, says Hayden made an impact quickly.

Hayden is the all time leading scorer for the Raiders, scoring 2,279 points from 2015-2018. His father Lance, was a High School Principal during that time.

Lance fills the vacancy left by the departure of Dan Johnson who took on the head coaching role at Festus. Hayden fills the assistant role left by Athletic Director Jimmy Palmer.
