MAC Lady Cardinals Rebound With Straight Set Win Over Lake Land Thursday Night

(Park Hills, MO) The Mineral Area Lady Cardinals answered Wednesday’s straight set loss to West Plains with a straight set win Thursday evening beating the Lake Land Lakers 28-26, 25-15, 25-14.

The Lady Cardinals erased a 5-point deficit early in the first set with a 5-point rally to tie the game at 11-11 before a time out. MAC used a four point spurt to take the lead later in the set at 17-15.

Lake Land returned the favor and regained the advantage 19-17. MAC closed out the set in extra points scoring six of the final eight points.

The second set was all MAC after the first six points that drew even 3-3. Midway through the Lady Cardinals led 11-9 but finished off the set outscoring Lake Land 14-6.

MAC opened the final set 9-2 and never trailed. The set featured a 7-0 rally by the Lady Cards, the longest of the night.

Gabirelle Domborowiski led the Lady Cardinals with 10 kills unofficially, Olivia Shaw had four kills and eight blocks. Morelia Diaz led with three aces.

MAC (11-4) are off until October 4th and 5th when they travel to West Plains for the Grizzly Invitational and play Trinity Valley, Iowa Western, and Panola.
