Park Hills, Mo. (KFMO) - The Mineral Area Lady Cardinals beat the St. Louis Lady Archers in straight sets to capture a home opener win 25-14, 25-11, 25-11.
Lara Gilardi unofficially had 8 kills and a block, Gabrielle Domborowiski contributed five kills, three aces and a block, and Olivia Shaw had six kills and two blocks.
The Lady Cards totaled eight serving aces, and eight serving errors. Despite the win Head Coach Tim Copeland was not pleased with the number of unforced errors in the game.
The match featured seven ties and three lead changes. MAC ended the first set on a 9-0 run, the second set on a 12-3 rally, and the third set with a 9-2 spurt.
The Lady Cardinals travel to Burlington, Iowa today for the Jimmy John’s Classic where they will face John Wood and Frontier on Friday, then Southeastern and Spoon River on Saturday.
On Tuesday they play at Jefferson College on KFMO Sports PLUS at 6pm.
