Mark Casey Stands Alone as Winningest Coach in Potosi Football History

Potosi, Mo. (KFMO) – Potosi Trojan head coach Mark Casey sits alone as the winningest football coach in program history after his club used a strong second half to beat Fredericktown 48-15 on Friday.

Casey surpassed Mike Thebeau by collecting his 56th win at Potosi. Casey says it was a total team effort to get to this point.

Casey in his second stint coaching the Trojans football team. His first stint, 2008-2016, say him win a total of 54 games with the first coming the opening week of the 2008 season when his Trojans beat Owensville. Casey was asked what he remembered most about the 2008 season and his first win as a head coach.

Despite how tough it can be to win football games, Casey says the ultimate goal for him and the program has always been to teach the athletes how to be good people once their playing days are over.

The Trojans are 2-3 and will host the Central Rebels on Friday night, a team that Casey is very familiar with having been an assistant coach for the program from 2017-2024.

You can hear the Trojans host the Rebels in Week 6 Friday Night Football on AM-1240 KFMO. Coverage begins with the Tailgate Show Fueled by McDonald’s at 6:00pm. Live Video coverage online begins at 6:30pm.
