(St. Louis, MO) The Potosi Lady Trojans are headed to the Class 3 Final Four after a straight set win over the Notre Dame Rebels of St. Louis on Saturday, 25-21, 25-16, 25-11.
Ava Robart and Eden Robart combined for 33 of the team’s 38 kills. Ava led all attackers with 18 kills and five aces, while Eden had 15 kills.
The match featured six total ties and four lead changes. Notre Dame opened Set 1 with a 3-1 lead before Potosi answered back and finally grabbed the lead at 5-4. The Rebels began the second set with a 4-1 advantage before a 6-0 Potosi Rally flipped the tied. The Lady Trojans used a 7-0 spurt to separate at 15-7.
Potosi faced little pressure in the final set as they begin the frame with a 7-0 spurt thanks to key serving aces by Tayler Rayfield.
Potosi (25-9-1) will head to Show Me Center Thursday for a Class 3 Semifinal against Odessa. Opening serve is scheduled for 10:00am, KFMO Sports will have coverage beginning at 9:30am. Potosi School District has canceled school Thursday.
