Potosi Lady Trojans State Champions for First Time in Program History

(Cape Girardeau, MO) The Potosi Lady Trojans are Class 3 Volleyball State Champions after dominating Logan-Rogersville Wildcats in straight sets, 25-19, 25-21, 25-20.

Ava Robart was stellar in the run to the Final Four and her performance was no different in the Championship Game. She led all hitters with 26 kills, while her sister Eden Robart contributed 12 kills.

The Lady Trojans began the opening set on an 8-0 rally and began to cruise through the early portions of the set. Although Logan-Rogersville sparked a four-point spurt late to draw within 5 at 21-16. However Potosi quickly extinguished the threat.

In the second set, the Wildcats began the scoring, but Potosi quickly answered with a three-point run and never trailed after that. However Logan-Rogersville drew within a point of the Lady Trojans midway through the set at 12-11, but again Potosi stifled any cat attack by scoring the next four points.

Logan-Rogersville led early in the third set 3-1 but Potosi used their second largest run of the match, 6-0, to take a 7-3 lead, and continued the rally to 9-1. Potosi never trailed after.

The Wildcats pressured late in the set with a 5-0 spurt as they tried to force a fourth set but after an Ashley Matthews timeout, Potosi scored the final two points to win the State Championship for the first time in program history.

Potosi ends the season with a program record 27 wins and are Class 3 Champions.
