(Park Hills, MO) Briley Palmer and the Mineral Area Lady Cardinals have set the roster for the 2023-24 women's basketball season after Skylar Sweeney signed her National Letter of Intent to continue her athletic and academic career at MAC Thursday morning.
Sweeney played basketball and soccer at Farmington last year. She says her love for the game led to the decision to play basketball at MAC.
MAC Lady Cardinal Head Coach, Briley Palmer, says she's had her eye on Sweeney for a long time.
Sweeney joins South Iron graduate, Maddie Ayers, as two of the local signees joining MAC in the fall. Palmer says fans enjoy seeing the local players succeed at Mineral Area.
Sweeney says it will be different playing with players from all over the world at the junior college level.
According to Briley Palmer, the roster is filled. So what's next for her club? She says it's time to focus on the season ahead.
The Lady Cardinals regular season begins on Wednesday, November 1 at the Bob Sechrest Fieldhouse when they host Williams Baptist JV.
