Fredericktown, Mo. (KFMO) - The Ste. Genevieve Dragons are the 2024 MAAA Large School Regular Season champions after defeating Fredericktown 23-25, 25-15, 25-16, 25-16 on Thursday.
The Dragons (16-8-2) finished conference play undefeated at 5-0. The Lady Cats (12-11-2) put up a good fight on their Senior Night, even taking the first set. However, Ste. Geneveive corrected course in the second set and beyond, jumping out to large large leads in each of the next three sets.
Kailynn Harmon and Kale Clements led Ste. Genevieve, each with an unofficial 12 kills. Kinleigh Gresham led all Fredericktown attacker with 11 kills. Ste. Genvieve recorded 11 aces in 4 sets, including 3 each for Emme Browne and Sophia Huck.
Both teams will participate in the MAAA Tournament next week. Seeding will be released Monday.
