Tyler Search Takes Job at Jefferson, Leaves Valle Catholic After 8 Seasons

Hillsboro, Mo. (KFMO) - Tyler Search has been named the newest head coach of the Jefferson BlueJays boys basketball team the Jefferson R-7 School District announced.

Search spent the last eight seasons at Valle Catholic and compiled a record of 127-95. His Warriors captured three MAAA Small School regular season titles( 2018, 2020, 2021), and three district titles (2019, 2021, 2022).

Search takes over for Jon DeBold who spent one season at Jefferson.

The BlueJays reached the Class 3 State Quarterfinal with a record of 20-9 and ended Valle Catholic’s season in the Class 3, District 3 Championship Game. Search coached the Warriors to a 16-13 record in the 2024-25 season.

Valle Catholic becomes the third MAAA boys team to feature a new head coach for the upcoming season. Todd Harbison takes over for Chris LaBruyere at West County, and Micah Reutzel was named the head coach at Fredericktown in March.
