St. Louis, Mo (KFMO) – The St. Louis Blues fall to the Anaheim Ducks 4-1 on Monday night in the final home game of the three game home stand.
Jordan Kyrou scored in the first period for the Blues assisted by Robert Thomas and Jake Neighbours.
Anaheim scored two goals on five shots in the first period. Blues head coach Jim Montgomery pulled Jordan Binnington in hopes to spark life into the team. Despite the goalie change, the Blues’ power play offered no help going 0-for-6 in the loss.
Joel Hofer allowed one goal on 19 shots.
St. Louis (9-11-7) heads northeast for a three game road trip against Boston on Thursday, Ottawa on Saturday, and Montreal on Sunday.
In other Blues news, the team placed forwards Jimmy Snuggerud and Alexey Toropchenko on the IR on Monday. Snuggerud will have surgery on his left wrist and miss a minimum of six weeks. Toropchenko burned both legs in a home accident.
On Tuesday, the Blues traded AHL forward Nikita Alexandrov to the Los Angeles Kings for forward Akil Thomas. The organization announced that Thomas will be headed to AHL Springfield.
And forward Nathan Walker will miss eight weeks with an upper-body injury.
