St. Louis, Mo. (KFMO) - The St. Louis Cardinals and Pittsburgh Pirates wrapped up a series on Thursday. A Redbird winner and a split series, a loss and the Pirates take three of four. Jordan Walker homered in the win and Miles Mikolas allowed one run on four hits while striking out five in the no decision. Kyle Leahy got the win.
Infielder Thomas Saggese has had a tremendous August so far collecting 21 hits. He spoke after the win about what he is learning at the plate each day in the big leagues.
Manager Oliver Marmol says Saggese's patience is paying off.
The Cardinals will be in Cincinnati this weekend playing the Reds for three games before returning home to play the Athletics on Labor Day. Hear the Cards battle the Reds tonight on B104.3 at 4:45pm with first pitch at 5:40pm.
